Roggenburg is a municipality in the Bezirk Laufen, situated at an altitude of 568 meters above sea level and covering a total surface area of 666 hectares. Figure 1 shows the municipality on the map, and Table 2 summarizes its key features.

In 2024, Roggenburg had a population of 251 residents, ranking it 83rd among the 86 municipalities in the canton. The population consists of 222 Swiss citizens and 29 foreigners, with foreigners making up 11.55 percent of the population, ranking 69th in the canton. The age distribution shows 25 children aged 0-17, 164 working-age adults aged 18-65, and 62 older adults over 65. There are 120 women and 131 men. The land use in Roggenburg is predominantly agricultural and forested. Of its total surface, 3.6 percent is settlement area, 49.3 percent is agricultural area, and 46.7 percent is forest, with the remaining 0.4 percent being unproductive surface.
