In 2024, Lausen had a population of 5,910 residents. Of these, 4,152 were Swiss citizens and 1,758 were foreigners, meaning just under 30 percent of the population holds foreign nationality. The age structure shows 1,055 children and young people aged 0-17, 3,789 adults of working age between 18 and 65, and 1,066 older adults over 65.
