Buckten is a municipality in the Bezirk Sissach, situated in the Homburgertal region at the foot of the Hauenstein mountain. It lies at an altitude of 485 meters above sea level and covers a total surface area of 200 hectares. In 2025, Buckten had a population of 736 people. Of these, 20.11 percent were foreign nationals, with the remainder being Swiss citizens. The population is composed of 124 young people aged 0-17, 456 working-age adults between 18 and 65, and 156 older adults over 65. The gender ratio is nearly balanced, with 373 men and 363 women.
