The average age of mothers was 33.7 years, while fathers averaged 36.0 years. The youngest mother was 18, and the oldest was 51, with only one teenage mother recorded. Swiss mothers averaged 33.6 years, closely matching the average age of foreign mothers at 33.6 years, indicating a negligible age gap.

Comparing 2024 to 2005, total births increased from 1 678 to 1 773, while the birth rate decreased from 9.0 to 8.5 per 1,000 inhabitants. The share of foreign babies decreased from 43.7% to 34.1%. The average age of mothers rose from 30.4 to 33.7 years. Notably, the number of teenage mothers dropped significantly from 33 in 2005 to just 1 in 2024.

In 2024, the top names for girls were Sofia (11), Emma (10), and Olivia (10), while for boys, Noah (12), Matteo (11), and Gabriel (10) led the list. Compared to 2006, these names represent new leaders in popularity. There were 161 new girls' names and 144 new boys' names introduced, including Anayah, Loena, and Aadhya for girls, and Ador, Bosco, and Jamil for boys.
